Time to Slim Down - Day One

So I managed to exceed my initial goal weight of 9stone. Last year I managed to slim down to 8stone 12lbs by eating less and exercising 5 times a week. My new goal became 8stone and to tone up. However after some tragic family news and a break in my will power and determination I have crept up to 10stone 12lbs, heavier than I initially started! 

I am gutted to say the least. However I am now starting my road to a new thin toned me. I want to do it asap however my final deadline is Summer 2016 for a friends Wedding in Italy. There is no way I will be the fat girl at this wedding!

For the first few days I will be trying to eat less and healthier but I am not going to follow a strict diet. I want to be able to see where my pitfalls are when I eat on average.

So today is day one and I thought it had gone ok but when you start adding those calories you start to see how the weight can creep on. I didn't have breakfast as I wasn't hungry but for lunch I ate spaghetti on toast. I thought it wasn't too bad but once I added it all up a moment ago I realized it came to 475 calories. That's insane! And it had almost zero nutritional value, except that the toast was seeded.

For tea I had chicken with chickpeas, peppers and pasta in an avocado, basil and lemon sauce. The recipe is based on blogilates creamy avocado pasta with a few tweaks. This should be 237 calories however with all my amendments it worked out at a whopping 780.

I also drank 3 coffees and two hot chocolates which added a further 440 calories.

So in total I consumed 1695 calories. I thought it was a good day but seeing as I was aiming for between 1000 and 1250 I totally over shot. What is enlightening however is that I thought I had done well. I had no idea how I piled on the weight and now it is glaringly obvious; I was eating alot of calories I didn't even realize were there. I also stopped exercising so it wasnt that much of a surprise to me but I have been surprised at how fast and how much I put on.

O well onto day two. Lets see what it brings foodwise.

As for exercise I did Blogilates Pilates for beginners which was great but I didnt do the gym as I had wanted to as well. Off to the in laws for tea tomorrow but will try to go to the gym and do blogilates afterwards.
