LWGS: Gym Buddies and Weigh in

Image from here
Hi folks

Its so hard to motivate myself at the moment, gym and diet wise, but I had a little break through. Meeting a friend at the gym is such a good way to get me there. I can't let her down by not turning up so it takes out the option of not going. Now I realize thats the key for me I'm trying to meet up as much as possible.

If you don't have anyone you can 'gym buddy' with then why not hire a personal trainer once a week. If you can afford it they are great. They whip you into shape in the session but the fear of having someone weigh you the next week should help keep you in check till your next sesh. *Sigh* If only I could afford it.

Do you have any tips or tricks? I'd love to hear them :)

Hi Folks

I know I'm a tad late liking this song seeing as it came out in July last year but at the moment I can't stop listening to it. Perhaps I'm missing summer; but I love winter, its my fav season....wierd!

All the colours in the video are muted a bit becuase of an affect the editors put in so I think the colours are more accurate for these products than it looks above.

If you want a tad more cover for your modesty then I found these great yellow bralets. The first from ebay is the cheapest but the second from love bonito is even longer so you could tuck it into the skirt.

Whether you brave the bra or opt for the bralet I hope you enjoy rocking this look in summer :)

Interior Design: Rethink Front Room

Top Picture: From Original Post // Bottom Picture: Alternative furniture, details in the 'read more' section below

Hi folks

After seeing an inspiration picture on Laura Ashley I decided to rethink the front room design I did. As these items are much darker I think it will make the front room feel cosier, while the glass items will prevent it from getting too dark and depressing.

If you have a front room thats also a dining room then I'd stick to the original Bramley furniture I used. The bramley range has a selection of table and chairs to suit any size home. Unfortunately the Capri and Garrat ranges I used above don't.

Burgundy Stripes

Hi Folks

A tad more weather appropriate post today. I have been wanting to style a pair of striped jeans for a while but could never really get it to feel right. Then River Island suggested these trousers while I was window shopping and I thought they were perfect. As they are muted stripes its easier to style. I really like them and am having to fight with myself not to get them!

Throw on a biker jacket and your good to go :)

Interior Design: Front Room

All items are from Laura Ashley, details and links are below in the 'read more' section

Hi folks

Seeing as the interior design posts went down so well last week I thought I would do another one. I really wanted to try and recreate the style my step mum effortlessly recreates in her home. So last time I was there I took the time to look at the wallpaper and paint she used.

I was so surprised to find that she uses very dark colours but it doesn't feel dank or dark at all. I usually steel clear from colours on all walls as I presumed it would feel too claustrophobic. Don't get me wrong it can but as she couples it with tasteful furniture it works.

I am not so brave yet to go for colours as dark as she does, so instead I chose to incorporate colour on all walls rather than a feature wall. Taking baby steps here people!

Lime Green Blocking

Hi folks

Can you tell I'm ready for nicer weather? Sorry that my last few post have been more spring/summer wear, definately not suitable for UK wear right now. Especially seeing as it was snowing the other day!! O well!

I like this outfit but the shoes have been a tad annoying. I had originally used the same H&M shoes from my last post but the coral pink strap didn't look quite right next to the pink bag. However I do think that the H&M shoes can be used instead of the zara ones above. When wearing them it will all look great together as the handbag wont be right next to the shoes!

Colour Blocking 2013

Links to items in the 'read more' section below
Hi Folks

Colour blocking was a big trend last year. I loved it but was too scared to try it. So this year whether its a trend again or not I'm gonna to go for it :) I'm mixing three colours rather than 2 here as well, so its even more adventurous!

However as its Britain even in summer its too unpredictable to wear this without taking out a white blazer just in case.

What trends do you want to return this year?

Beyonce Tickets and Impersonator

Hi Folks

I got tickets to see the one and only Beyonce!! Arrrrh!! So SO so excited!

Then today youtube suggested this following clip for me to watch, what a coincidence. I actually thought it was Beyonce at the beginning. The production is fantastic; the set looks so much like the one Beyonce used at Glastonbury. I thought the costumes and dancers were great as well. The main girl was fantastic, sometimes her miming was a tad wierd but overall she did a good job. Then to top it off it was all really enhanced by putting clips of Beyonce behind them.

What do you guys think?

Ebay Inspiration

All links and item names in the 'read more' section below

Hi Folks

I was looking for a bowler hat on ebay and came across this image of someone. They were selling the hat but unfortunately not the whole outfit they were clearly rocking! So I decided to use it as inspiration and create my own version.

Hope you like it :)

New Look Sales

Hi Folks

So after seeing a new blog post over at LLYMLRS I decided its about time I get myself a faux fur scarf. Unfortunately New Look aren't selling them online anymore but while I was there I saw some nice stuff in the sale.

The coloured coats are statement pieces that I honestly wouldn't quite know how to style, but I like them just the same. I desperately need a job again so I can buy all the items I have been blogging about over the last month. Please keep your fingers crossed that some thing crops up soon :) xx

Hen Night Idea Take 2

Left from here // Right pic from here

So I showed my sister the Alice in Wonderland outfit I was going to wear and she vito-ed it :( She said she doesn't want it to be the typical slutty versions of disney you see on hen nights. So I went searching for a cool un-slutty outfit. It was harder than you might think!

LWGS: Diet App and Weigh In

Hi folks

This little gadget on my phone is brilliant. The difference when I am using it versus when I am not is huge. As you have to write down what you're eating it makes you realize how many calories you're really consuming. I thought I was realistic with myself before I got this app but I clearly wasn't! I am going to start using it again from today as I desperately need to get back on the weight loss.

Interior Design: Duck Egg and Dove Grey

Laura Ashley: Bedside Cabinet / Dressing Table / Wallpaper and curtains / Paint / Round Cushion / End of bed bench / Headboard / Rug //                    // Proleno: Square Cushion / Bed throw //                        // Mirror //
Hi folks

So heres bedroom number two for my sister in law ....or my future home! Its very soft and pale but I like that in bedrooms; helps you relax. Also I picked these items to go with a gorgeous lamp and picture frame they were given at christmas. The lamp has a chrome finish similar to the mirror and the frame is the same colour as the gorgeous striped pillow. So it all ties in nicely :)

I would just team this with very plain bed sheets. I found some really nice ones at Proleno; simple, inexpensive but luxurious.

Interior Design: Bedroom

Laura Ashley: Neisha Curtain fabric and wallpaper / Provencale Cabinet / Provencale Chest of Drawers / Farringdon Bed //          John Lewis: Bed Covers / Candlestick lamp base / Oratorio lamp shade / Newgate alarm clock / Candle                 // Tesco Raspberry Throw / Long Mirror jewelry cabinet / Revlon 3 set mirror

On a trip up north before Christmas I nipped in to a Laura Ashley store with my step mum and I instantly fell in love with the whole store! Ever since then I can't stop window shopping on the online store. Dangerous thing to do I know

Then my sister in law told me she is thinking about how to decorate her house once her build is finished, poor her the house is in total over haul atm. So I thought I would make a few lookbooks to help her out. Of course if she doesn't use these ideas then I will just keep them for my future house :D ...perhaps I wont give her these on second thought, I shall just keep them for my house! Better start saving :(

O if only I had lots of money...and my own house.... I'd buy everything from Laura Ashley!!

Burlesque Costume

Outfit: Cocu Corset, New Look Shrug (originally attached to a basque), H&M Skirt, Primark Tights, Primark Bag

Sorry folks for the horrifically unclear pictures! We have a few from the night but to be honest we were too busy having a brilliant night and so forgot to take proper ones, oops! Anyway this was my Moulin Rouge burlesque outfit and luckily it was easy and relatively cheap to put together. All you need is a tutu, corset and heels!

Fairisle Faux Coatigan

Bag: Amazon // Boots: River Island // Rings: River Island // Cardigan: River Island // Top: Asos // Jeans: River Island

 Hi folks :)
The star of this outfit is definately the cardigan, I love it! It adds texture and pattern to an otherwise boring outfit. As an aded bonus it incorporates the fur scarf trend.

I wanted to add more arm candy to this look and I came across this watch. Its so cute with the little moustache detail but I hate when you have to guess what time it is as there are no numbers on the watch face. So annoying!! Defeats the while point of a watch. So in light of that, I decided to leave it out.

Valentines Outfit

Jumper , Necklace and Dress : River Island

Hi folks!

I started creating this OOTD and realised with a sudden jolt that its valentines day! oops! Well luckily this suits the day, after all it is red. Team this with some tights, black wedges and a leather jacket. Feminine but with enough edge to stop you being too cutesy.

I would wear this to a few drinks but whats good is if the night progresses and you move on to a club just whip off the jumper and tights to be dance floor ready :)

I hope you all enjoy the day xx

LWGS: Gym alternative and Weigh In

Pic from here
So I was a bit worried about weighing in yesterday. I hadn't been to the gym in over a week and at the weekend I wasn't exactly sticking to the diet, unless massive chocolate bars are allowed! So I was sure I'd gained weight despite sticking to the diet the rest of the week. However I lost weight! YAY! Its only a 1lb but it sounds more impressive in kg; from 60kg down to 59.4kg. I think its down to the powder meals I took for two days. Bad health wise but great weight wise!

Unfortunately I'm not headed to the gym today, important ucas stuff to do, so I decided to do the Beyonce work out instead. I love this. Doesn't feel like I am exercising but it doesn't half knacker me out! So I did it a few times through this morning and I'm gonna do it another two times this evening, in heels!

On the subject of Beyonce, shes touring. SO EXCITED!!! I have to get tickets! Never bought concert tickets before and I'm worried I'll miss out. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to get tickets?

LWGS: Shake or Powder Meals

Caramal Shake from Allizone
If I gave anyone dieting advice one of the first things I would say is steer clear from drinks, shakes or powder meals. Anything that extreme is bad for your body and it usually tastes foul! Eat healthily and reduce your portion size, simple but effective. Plus it makes your skin glow :) However my old room mate left me some diet meals he'd spent a fortune buying so last year I thought I would give them a try.......

Loose Weight and Get in Shape (LWGS): Journey so far

Now: 60kg = 132lbs // Then: 66.7kg = 147lbs
Hi Folks :)

I am in the middle of a slim down. A year into my battle I thought it would be really helpful to keep me going if I blogged about my experiences; whats worked for me, what hasn't and a monthly public weigh in to frighten me into staying on track.

So today I first wanted to share with you my ongoing struggle and so far marginal success in my war against my own bulge! I'm having trouble getting back on the bike and diet after Christmas so I thought this might help motivate me and may help some others out there who, like me, want to make 2013 the year they got in shape.
